    Cathy Walsh

Working in English, German & Italian.

Cathy Walsh is a dance artist and intimacy coordinator based between Ireland and Germany. She has a BA in Drama & Theatre Studies from University College Cork, an MA in Contemporary Dance from the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick, and a postgraduate diploma in Ensemble Performance Practice from Queen's University Belfast. She completed her training as an Intimacy Coordinator with Safe Sets (SA/UK), and is currently undertaking a course in Wellbeing Coordination at University College Cork.

Having worked as a performer, choreographer, lighting technician, and production manager, Cathy implicitly understands both the role of performer and crew member, bringing her diverse experience with her. She is an excellent communicator, valued for her ability to diffuse tensions and lighten the atmosphere. She brings curiosity, clarity and positivity, creating a space where people can work playfully.

At MINT, Cathy’s focus is collaboration - to serve the director’s vision and the performer's comfort level to create choreography that feels safe, clear, and alive. Drawing on her background in dance and physical theatre, she uses games and improvisation to inspire specific qualities of movement and support performers in finding their own way into the work.
